How Bunny Search Works

From "I'm in the cosmetics aisle and I need to know right now" to "I want to plan a full cruelty-free shop" — here's how Bunny Search handles each case in under thirty seconds.

1

Install the app or open the web directory

Bunny Search is free on iOS and Android with no signup. If you don't want to install anything, the full A–Z brand directory is also at bunnysearch.app/brands.

2

Search by brand name

Type any part of a brand name and you'll get instant autocomplete suggestions across 10,000+ brands. Useful when you remember the brand but not the exact product.

3

Or scan a barcode in the store

Open the scanner, point it at any product barcode, and Bunny Search identifies the brand and pulls up its certification status. Built for the moment you're standing in the aisle holding a bottle.

4

Read the multi-source verdict

Each brand page shows you what each of the nine tracked certification organizations says: PETA, Leaping Bunny, Cruelty Free International, Ethical Elephant, Naturewatch Compassionate Shopping Guide, Responsible Mica Initiative, ECOCERT, NATRUE. Each entry links the original source, so you can verify anything yourself.

If the sources agree, you have high confidence. If they disagree — which happens — you see exactly why and can apply your own standard.

5

Check parent company and alternatives

Many brands are owned by parent companies whose policies differ from the brand itself. Bunny Search shows the ownership chain. If a brand turns out not to be cruelty-free, the page surfaces alternative cruelty-free brands you can switch to.

6

Save favorites and share lists

Bookmark brands you trust. Build a shareable list of cruelty-free finds for friends, family, or your group chat. Lists work without an account.
